Camana Bay’s Favorite Annual Events
Grand Cayman is one of the best vacation spots in the Caribbean, drawing visitors from around the world. There is an endless list of fun things to do in Grand Cayman. In fact, tucked away on Grand Cayman is a wonderful little inlet known as Camana Bay. Camana Bay is a great place to visit and here are some our favorite annual events that you won’t want to miss:
Taste of Cayman Food & Drink Festival
The festival held on the last weekend in January is all about celebrating food, drink and the incredibly talented chefs and bartenders from Cayman. See Camana Bay’s restaurants put their best foot forward as they compete for culinary supremacy. Held at Festival Green in Camana Bay for the true connoisseurs of food, drink, and fun.
Taking advantage of the island’s wonderful winter weather, Camana Bay hosts the Tennis Legends Tournament in mid-February. Tennis Hall of Fame legends join Grand Slam Champions and former top players on the court at the Festival Green in Camana Bay for a night of exhibition matches. Events include men’s singles and mixed doubles.
Slow Food Day
Spring is here and it is time for Slow Food Day. In April, the Camana Bay community celebrates the local food scene. The day-long event educates the public about the importance of healthy food choices. The event features a food to table market, followed by a seminar for budding young chefs. The day’s festivities culminate with a specially prepare harvest dinner at Abacus by UK’s most popular chef, Michelin-starred Clare Smyth.
Join in a spook spectacular around Camana Bay. Festivities go on for a week with everything from Halloween culinary delights to a 5K run. Movies are shown all week at Gardenia Court (for kids of all ages). Regal Cinemas will feature an appropriate themed live performance as part of their Culture at the Cinema. The annual Diablo Ball will raise funds for the Cayman Humane Shelter. On this special day, all are invited to trick-or-treat throughout the Town Centre at shops and restaurants.
Cayman 27 Parade of Lights
Watch boats lit up with holiday decorations sail through the harbor while serenaded by local choirs. Come enjoy the show along with a Christmas market, live music, and a fireworks display.
